RYPP Ambassador Programme
What is it for?
Respect has developed a train the trainer model to build the sustainability of the RYPP (Respect Young People’s Programme). The RYPP Ambassadors are trained by Respect to deliver the four-day RYPP training, which they can then roll out to practitioners in their local area. Ambassadors are also trained to deliver practice support sessions for staff delivering the programme.
Ambassadors may also be given access to Respect Young People’s Service training materials to deliver CAPVA briefings for internal teams as well as external agencies, such as police or health services.
The model has been piloted in Durham and would be available for commissioning in areas where the RYPP is already being delivered.
How does it build capacity?
The Ambassador programme aims to ensure the delivery of specialist CAPVA services for children and families is sustainable and accessible. The approach of training CAPVA ambassadors within local teams means that there will increased CAPVA awareness across local authority staff and that RYPP delivery will be less vulnerable to changes such as staff turnover.

How can I access the service?
