Early Response to CAPVA
What is it for?
A suite of training and resources to support the early identification of CAPVA. This includes:
Our multi agency CAPVA awareness training helps practitioners to understand more about the causes, risks and dynamics of CAPVA. The training will support learners to be better able to identify indicators of CAPVA and develop an understanding of best practice principles when responding to it.
A self-paced online training course that gives learners an increased understanding of the causes, effects and risks associated with CAPVA, child or adolescent to parent violence and abuse.
The Early Intervention to CAPVA resource packs include a booklet for parents and young people that gives advice, support and some simple strategies to reduce the likelihood of conflict escalating. The booklets aim to support skills such as emotional regulation, building confidence and self esteem and recognising trauma responses. They can be used by families independently or with the support of a practitioner.
Why is it important?
